Study Abroad
Georgia Tech sends more than 2,500 students abroad each Academic Year and offers more than 120 programs around the globe. Education abroad programs span nearly every continent and academic discipline. Because students take classes abroad that fulfill degree requirements, studying abroad gives students opportunities to improve global competencies and build career readiness skills while meeting academic goals.
Faculty-Led Study Abroad programs give students the opportunity to study as a group with faculty from Georgia Tech, with courses that are enhanced by an international experience. All faculty-led study abroad credit is considered "in-residence GT credit".
Exchange programs give students the opportunity to attend international partner universities, where they take courses alongside students at the host institution and experience what it is like to study and live in another country. Georgia Tech Atlanta-based, degree-seeking, students of all majors are eligible to participate in semester- or year-long exchange programs, and complete courses taught in English or in the language of the host country. All Georgia Tech exchange credit is considered "in-residence GT credit". Georgia Tech partners with more than 70 top-ranked universities around the world.
The Global Research and Internship Program (GRIP) facilitates overseas work and research internship experiences for Atlanta-based, degree-seeking, Georgia Tech students. Global Internships are related to a student’s major/career interests and allow them to develop professional skills in a cross-cultural setting. The research, corporate, and non-profit work experiences that students take part in range from 6 weeks to a full year.
